Recording your phone calls might sound awkward to an average Nigerian but I bet you, it can save you from some unsure situations and accusations. I remembered it saving me lots of times ranging from personal issues to family issues to friends issues and so on.
There are tons of apps that can record your call automatically but I will only be discussing on the one I use. It’s called the ‘Call Recorder‘.
The ‘Call Recorder’ records your call automatically whenever you are dialing a number or receiving a call. You have full control over your ‘Call Recorder’ app. Here are few things it can actually do for you:
- You can make it record in either of the two file formats available on it which it 3GPP and MPEG 4.
- You can toggle the Audio source between the Phone line, Mic, your own voice or your caller’s voice. This means you can choose to record your own voice alone, your caller’s voice alone or the two. You are the boss!
- You can also toggle the Audio channel between Stereo and Mono. I seriously don’t know what this means but I use Stereo.
- You can select your preferable recording quality. It has options like High, Medium, Low and Poor.
- You can make it show in notification bar after each call so that you will be sure your call recorded.
- You may wish not to save all calls. It has an option that allows you make it ask you each time after your your call whether to save the call or not.
- You choose where your recordings go on your storage device.
- You also get to choose how it deletes old recordings or even choose not to delete them at all.
Introducing new features to it, you can now link your Dropbox account with and sync your recorded calls online. Passcode has also been introduced in case you want to protect your app from infiltration.

However, I found one of its counterpart on iTunes. Since I don’t know much about this, I will just copy the description from iTunes and our Apple friends can make something out of it.

How To Record an Incoming (existing) Phone Call
1) Open Call Recorder
2) Go to the Record screen and tap the Record button
3) Your existing call is put on hold and your phone will dial our recording number
4) Once connected to our recording number, tap the Merge button on your screen to create a 3-way call between your existing call and our recording line
How To Record an Outgoing Phone Call
1) Open Call Recorder
2) Go to the Record screen and tap the Record button
3) Your phone will dial our recording number
4) Once connected to our recording number, tap the Add call button on your screen to call your desired contact.
5) Tap the Merge button to create a 3-way call between your existing call and our recording line
Please note that 3-way calling is a required phone feature for Call Recorder to work properly. Cellular carriers known to NOT support 3-way calling are: H2O Wireless, Virgin Mobile
The free version will record complete calls but requires credits to be purchased to listen beyond the first 60 seconds of the recording.
