If you are using a cellular iPad 2, 3, 4, iPad Mini and iPad Air, you will be able to use BBM on your device if it is running iOS 6 upward. If your device is wiFi only, am sorry, BBM will not work on your iPad. I am currently enjoying chatting with BM on my iPad 3 Wifi+4G.
Once you sign in with your Blackberry ID after installing BBM on your iPad, you will be assigned a unique PIN – which acts as contact number. This simply lets you protect your privacy. You will be able to add other BBM users through PIN, email, SMS or QR code scan. You can have a chat together with multiple contacts and can send a message to all your contacts or selected contacts at once.
With BBM for iPad, you can select a picture from your iPad camera roll to use as your BBM dp (display picture) and you can even use animated pictures (GIFs). You can update your status with ease to let people know what you’re up to or how you feel. You will know when messages have been delivered (D’s) and read (R’s) and there are emoticons you can use to spice up your chat.
How To Download BBM for iPad
Go to www.bbm.com with your iPad safari browser and you will be redirected to the BBM download page at the App store. Follow the steps, create your Blackberry ID, sign in and start pinging!
Remember: BBM is compatible only with iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad Air Wi-Fi + Cellular and iPad mini with Retina display Wi-Fi + Cellular.
