Jumia is arguably one of the top web-based stores in Nigeria. Founded in 2012, the company has been dominating online shopping sphere in Nigeria and the whole of Africa. Few days ago, Jumia launched a Windows Phone app following that of its biggest competitor in this region, Konga.
In a future post, we’ll be reviewing both apps on the Windows Phone platform.

Although Jumia’s services spread across Africa, the app is only available to five countries at the moment. As seen in the image below, they are Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco, Egypt and Ivory Coast.

The homescreen displays a grid of hot deals as well as a featured item at the top and you get to see a list of categories as you scroll down the page. Swiping left and right also switches categories for you to shop from.

Above all, the nitty-gritty of every shopping app isn’t missing. The search button! This appears to make Jumia’s Windows Phone app complete and acceptable.

Dear Windows Phone shopaholics, give your PC a rest and go download Jumia App from the Windows Phone Store.

Android user? Read this post.

NOTE: If you are a Windows Phone 8.1 user and you have Cortana active, it’s obvious your region is set to ‘United Sates’. Too bad you won’t be able to download the app. The solution however is to switch your region to Nigeria or any supported country (listed above); download the app and then switch back to United States to have your dear Cortana back.
