A while back, Google started rolling out its new Chrome 79 update for desktops and mobile phones. The update came with several bug fixes and phishing protections but along the line a bug was noticed. This bug caused users data to be deleted from their devices and made their mobile apps reset.
So far it seems that the major cause for this bug was the fact that Google’s developers switched the location of the Chrome directory in the Chrome 79 update. The report about the bug came from mobile app developers who stated that it leads to the deletion of user data and resetting of their mobile apps.
The company claims to be working on a fix that would minimize the data loss so that the update can be rolled out to everyone else.
