I opted in for the NetFlix free subscription when it was launched in Nigeria last month. Fast forward, February 10th, N2,277.11 was debited from my bank account by GTBank as the $7.99 payment for Netflix for the next 30 days.
This simply means the GTBank exchange rate was N285 per US dollar for the transaction.
N2,277.11 is a bit close to what DsTV charges per month for the Family bouquet (N3,600). And for the fact that we still have to pay for data to watch the movies on NetFlix, it’s obviously not cheap at all.
What’s your take on this?
NB : You can cancel your subscription or disable auto renewal via your Netflix account settings.
