Uber Lagos recently partnered with Paga to enable riders in Nigeria pay for their trips through their mobile phone i.e by simply visiting the mobile site or downloading the Paga app, riders can still enjoy the convenience of cash free payments. Uber riders can pay through their Paga accounts or a local debit card without worrying about the foreign exchange rate issues.
Riders do not need to have a Paga account to pay with Paga. However, for a seamless cash experience, it is recommended to register a Paga account.
If you choose to use value in your Paga account you need to ensure that you have sufficient funds to cover the cost of your ride. You can fund your Paga account using your Credit/Debit card by yourself or deposit cash at a Paga agent.
If you prefer to use your debit card, with Paga you can still use your card and be charged the exact value of your ride. You will not be charged FX rates. Note that paying with your debit card attracts a N100 charge while paying with value in a Paga account is FREE.
How To Pay for Uber Ride With Paga Nigeria
Before Ride
Request for Uber ride, choose “CASH” option when booking
End of Ride
1. Open Paga (mobile web www.mypaga.com/pay/uber or Paga for Android)
2. Enter cost of ride
3. Enter driver’s phone number
4. Pick payment method:
– Value in your Paga account or
– Local debit card (Visa, Mastercard or Verve)
5. Confirm payment and that driver has received SMS confirmation
