“Account action required” Notification Fixed!

Yesterday, an “account action required” notification popped up on my Android phone. I tapped on it to fix it but nothing happened. I discovered that it also affected my Google contacts sync. After trying some tricks I saw on some online forums, I was able to get rid of the annoying notification.

  1. Clear cache data for the Google Play Store app.
  2. Clear cache for Google Play Services
  3. Restart your device.
  4. Remove Google Account
  5. Add Google Account

How To Remove Google Account

Open your device’s Settings app.
Under “Accounts,” touch Google and then the account you want to remove.
Touch the Menu icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Open your device’s Settings app.
Under “Accounts,” touch Add account > Google .
Follow the instructions to add your account.
