Another outstanding app from Google. This time from the team that handles Gmail. This app was launched on October 22, 2014 and it is still by invitation only as at the time pf publishing this.
Inbox by Gmail is an optimization of the mailing app on mobile. The User Interface design is so cool as it is designed with the new material design that Google is promoting. It is just like a perfect mail for everyone seeking to have a better mailing experience.
Features that distinguishes Inbox from other mail clients
Bundles
Last year, Gmail introduced categories; an auto-labeling feature that groups similar mails. Like all your mails from Google+, Facebook, Twitter and other social media are automatically grouped in the “Social category”.
With Inbox, the ‘categories’ feature has been improved upon and is called ‘Bundle’. Apart from the fact that bundles contains more specific labels than categories, you can also teach Inbox to adapt to the way you work by choosing which emails you’d like to see grouped together.
Highlights
With Inbox, you get to see key information from important messages such as calendar events, flight itineraries, attachments, photos and so on at a glance. Inbox may also check the web to display important information that is on the web but not in the mail sent to you such as flight times and the likes.
To-do
Another amazing stuff Inbox has is its to-do features which included Reminders, Assists and Snooze. You may not want to read a mail now because you are busy. Yet, you don’t want it to litter your notification panel. Inbox provides an avenue to snooze mails and get reminded to read them later.
Also reminders can be set for important events such as flights and the likes. No matter what you want to remember, Inbox is always there for you.
The ‘Assists’ feature is also very marvelous. It helps you with handy pieces of information that you need for a certain stuff you want to do. For example, if you write a Reminder to call the hardware store, Inbox will supply the store’s phone number and tell you if it’s open. Assists work for your email, too. If you make a restaurant reservation online, Inbox adds a map to your confirmation email.
