You can view content of your iPhone or iPad on your HDMI compatible TV if you connect both devices with Apple’s Digital AV Adapter through an HDMI cable, which transfers both HD-quality video and sound.
A second 30-pin connector built into the AV adapter lets you charge and sync your device while it’s connected to your HDMI-compatible display.
How To Get Started
==> Plug the Apple’s Digital AV Adapter into your iPhone or iPad 30-pin dock connector.
==> Plug one end of an HDMI cable into the HDMI port of the digital adapter, and the other end into an available HDMI port on your TV.

For earlier models such as the iPhone 4, the original iPad, or the fourth-generation iPod Touch, the display won’t be mirrored, but it will show photos and videos in supported apps once you start playing them on the device.
