No Sound When Mirroring Mac To TV With Ezcast Adapter? Here Is How I Fixed It

Yesterday, I decided to use ezcast airplay mirroring to watch some movies I saved on my Macbook, on my TV.  After using EzCast HDMI adapter to connect my Macbook to TV , the screen of my Macbook displayed on my TV but there was no audio. Sound was only coming out from the speakers on my Macbook and not through the speakers on my TV.

After googling it, I was able to fix the problem.

All I did, was to set “EzSound” as the device for sound output instead of Internal Speakers of my Macbook running Mac OS El Capitan.

How?

  • Go to System Preferences
  • Click on Sound icon
  • Click on the “Output” tab
  • Click on “EzSound”

set audio output for airplay mirroring

That’s all.

If it doesn’t work for you, try running “sudo killall coreaudiod” command from your Macbook Terminal window.

Kindly note that this trick might also help to select Apple Tv for Audio while mirroring.
