Concerning the Mi Band fitness tracker, Xiaomi has made a Weibo post which confirms the new features to come on the Mi Band 5.
The features include the following:
- Extra large dynamic OLED screen
- Magnetic charging
- NFC UnionPay and QuickPass
- Take pictures remotely
- Professional sensor upgrade
- 11 professional sports modes
- New women’s health model
The Mi Band 5 teasers reveal that it will arrive in four official colors including; yellow, red, green, and black. The “Professional sensor upgrade” is basically a new blood-oxygen saturation sensor (SpO2) which would help in tracking stress and breathing. Alexa support has also been previously reported, but it wouldn’t have a speaker for audible replies from Alexa.
Previous reports say that the Mi Band 5 will be able to track new modes of exercise including yoga, elliptical, rowing, indoor cycling, and jump roping.
The OLED screen is expected to be larger at 1.2-inches as compared to the .95-inch display on the Mi Band 4. The band is making its way to China on Thursday, June 11 with a possible global launch happening soon.
