September 17 has been scheduled by Sony as the launch date for a new product, with a #SonyXperia hashtag. The company is probably about to launch the Sony Xperia 5 II.
The first renders of the phone have been released, showing a triple cam with ZEISS T* lenses and a classic top and bottom bezel design on the front. Detail on the hardware are scarce but are speculated to be almost similar to the Xperia 1 II with a few differences.
The screen size is also unknown at this time but the Mark II Xperia 1 came with a 6.5-inch diagonal, same as the Mark I. Rumors say that its screen may just be smaller and will likely be a 1080p panel.
Other models may come up soon such as the global version of the newly-unveiled Xperia 8 Lite or the new 12 GB Xperia 1 II models. Some rumors also hint that the Xperia Compact and Premium lines will be making a comeback.
Sony will livestream the announcement on its YouTube channel starting at 7:00 AM UTC.
